Selena Gomez is an internationally well-known actress and performer. The Disney film Wizards of Waverly Place, one of the most prestigious projects that she has been a part of and which has had the highest success, is her project. Selena Marie Gomez is her full name. Selena Gomez, born Grand Prairie, Texas on July 22nd the 22nd of July, 1992. Amanda Cornett is her mother and Ricardo Gomez is her father. Selena's mother was 16 years old at the time her birth. In the age of nine, she got her first job on stage after being cast in the role of Gianna on Barney and her Friends. The role was to be one of the kids who played with the world's most famous reptile, the purple anthropomorphic dinosaur. Selena was a part of many episodes of seasons 7 & 8 between 2001 - 2003. It's a great fact that Selena is not the only one who sang in Barney and his Friends during this period; Demi Lovato was also a part of the ensemble cast for the series. Selena Gomez left the show and was auditioned for a variety of different films and shows however, she did not achieve any success. In 2003 she was given an unimportant role in Mini Spies 3: (Spy Kids 3D Game Over) as well as she was in Walker Texas Ranger Trial by Fire in the role of Julie. The role in the film of Emily Grace Garcia was assigned to her for 2006's Brain Zapped, for which she wrote music.
